Unique Holster

My new holster for my XD came in today. It is custom made by MB Saddlery (formerly in Oreana, ID but now Humboldt, AZ). It is a unique design for concealed carry. The holster actually snaps out of the belt carrier when getting in a vehicle and back in when you get out. No more uncomfortable driving. The best part is that it was made by my nephew. He is only in his 20's but is a wizard with leather. He makes some serious saddles but I can't afford to buy one even at the 'uncle' price. :lol: The interior of the holster is lined with a very high grained fine boot leather that is waterproof and prevents gun oil from penetrating through the leather and leather conditioners applied to the outside from penetrating to the gun. He builds them specific to the gun. I can't believe how comfortable it is to carry. I toted it around most of the day and almost forgot it was there.

He buys the lining leather from Danner boots. They have a proprietary tanning method that they have patented and you can't get it anywhere else. When they have a hide that comes in with a small cosmetic defect they reject it and sell it to folks that are not in the boot making business. He buys it to use as the lining. I like that there are no metal retaining clips sewn into the leather. You can turn the holster upside down and shake it but the gun will not fall out. Grasp it by the grip and pull and it comes out much easier than the kydex tactical type holsters.

I carry a S&W model 39. Very concealed.

Don't need to remove the gun when driving either. Very comfortable. Just can't return the gun to the holster with one hand.

As a civilian, if you can't hit it with 8, perhaps one shouldn't be pulling the trigger.
