UNION RAGS wins the Belmont

Painter was giving all he had. Watch his ears in the replay. The jockey pushed him right to the limit.
Union rags did a great job

Agreed, Hook. Jeeze, remember when you were just a kid, doing pony or horse races with our butts IN the saddle, against neighbor kids? And we all thought we were hot stuff? -- I guess we were, for that day.

You missed out on the 4-leggeds races, Hook? T'was fun. I think back, sometimes, on some of the rough terrain we did that on as kids, and wonder how we all survived. Grace of God, and fearlessness (is that a real word?), I suppose -- and horses that took care of our stupid selves.

If I can't eat it, it's not going on my field. Course I could eat a horse but the whole people looking at me funny thing......

Horse isn't bad meat. That backstrap is pretty good eating.
To my knowledge, have never eaten horse meat. Don't have any bad ju-ju about doing it. Have no issues with humane slaughter of horses -- think it needs to get back under USDA control, and not shipping them out under who knows what regulation in Canada and Mexico. NOT wanting to start a whole nother discussion on horse slaughter.
