Getting paid to sign autographs in college football. Somebody else might be going to "football jail".
Heisman trophy-winning quarterback Johnny Manziel's future college eligibility could be in question following an ESPN Outside The Lines report Sunday that the Texas A&M quarterback accepted thousands of dollars for signing memorabilia earlier this year.

The report says Manziel agreed to a "five-figure flat fee" with an autograph broker named Drew Tieman for signing memorabilia during Manziel's visit to the site of the 2013 BCS Championship game in January. The report cites two witnesses saying they saw Manziel sign the products but did not see money exchange hands.

He's done. It's obvious the boy ain't that bright. He can play football, life- not so much.

Not a proven fact yet but IF he did it, gonna be hard to measure the level of "stupid" this kid is carrying around inside that empty head.

The report I read said the NCAA has been looking into this for a month. It stems back to the BCS championship game last year. With the season so close I hope the NCAA doesn't drag their feet and let it hang over the players heads all season. I doubt it will happen but they need to make a quick decision on this. At this point Manziel is projected a second round pick next year, that's according to the CBS way too early mock draft. If it is true, his lack of common sense may drop him a couple of rounds.

Alan I'm about to the point I figure the only thing that will help him get his head on straight will be one monstrous a$$ whipping by one of his peers...then another..then another. Don't reckon he's given one second of thought to just how much of his future he's putting on the line with these "let me be a kid" moments. Maybe Sumlin will let the #2 QB start the season for him.

If it's true, that's all we can hope for, A&M to make the right move and sit Manziel. Let the NCAA see that they are in full cooperation and ahead for the game. I would hate to see Manziel play and A&M having to vacate a 10, 11 or 12 win season.

With all of Manziel's antics it makes it easy to believe this could have happened. Kinda of compares with Oregon's ex QB, Darron Thomas, twice he was in a car which was pulled over and the driver busted for pot. Once with "l'll steal your laptop" Mosoli and another with "we smoked it all" cliff Harris. Those two times really put a cloud over Thomas's head ...... Same with Manziel.

Are you a Tennessee fan? Nick needs to quit whining about up tempo offenses.

TB, you slapped him pretty hard, did you think about pulling one of your punches? Or maybe you did pull a couple.

That ain't no joke. Talk to the big money UT backers... that's just the stuff you hear about. They had to hire guys to hold some of those fools hands 24/7 because they were so screwed up.

A&M isn't use to covering up for these stars yet...

Hello TN...we'll show up. Come on down and enjoy some good ol' Texas hospitality. Expecting a good game...Gonna look bad tho when the Tide gets steam rolled by the Aggies lead by the 2nd team QB. :cowboy: I'll bet you a case of "Lone Star" beer against a qt. of that good Tennessee sipping whiskey. If I win you still have to take the Lone Star.

Hey Alan I took it easy. Would have been easy to list about 50 other arrests and NCAA violations. They ain't exempt. They just have more money to buy their guys off the hook.

CAMERON (August 5, 2013)—Billy Joe Pitman, Jr., who starred on the gridiron in Cameron and later at the University of Texas, was in custody Monday in the Milam County Jail after his arrest for a home invasion robbery.

Milam County jail records showed Pitman, 28, was ordered held on bonds totaling $115,000, charged with aggravated robbery and interference with an emergency call.

Another man, Alvin Dejuan Melton, 30, turned himself over to police in connection with the incident and he was ordered held in lieu of $105,000 bond charged with aggravated robbery.

At 5:53 pm Friday officers from the Cameron police were sent to a residence in the 1600 block of North Crockett Street.

According to police, when they got there, the two homeowners said a woman and two men forced their way into the home and robbed the occupants.

The victim said a woman knocked at the door and as the door was opened two men forced their way inside the home saying they were owned money.

After cornering one of the victims in her kitchen, one of the suspects grabbed her arm when she tried to call police.

Eventually the suspects ended up in the bedroom where the homeowner say they suspects took several items from the home, including two cell phones.

Police said the victim’s told them the suspects were inside the house for about 30 to 40 minutes.

One of the victims is handicapped, which enhances the robbery to an aggravated robbery charge.

There was no mention of weapons in the police report.

Another suspect, Nekeisha Kaderka, 31, of Rockdale.

Pitman was remembered as an outstanding football player at Cameron Yoe High School where he was a quarterback.

He later went on to the University of Texas where he, between 2003 and 2007, was considered an outstanding receiver.

Pitman was the Longhorn’s leading receiver during the 2005 National Championship season, UT records showed.

Pitman’s college career also was marked by his fight to overcome a rare condition, Bell's Palsy, that results in inability to control facial muscles on the affected side and can also cause facial paralysis.

Pitman was signed as an undrafted free agent by the San Diego Charges in April 2008 but was cut from the team that August.

PS....Vince Young signed a 1 year contract with GB yesterday. Needed a cheap bench warmer.
