a single calf was born. Well it's supposed to start raining tonight so I guess I'll have one born before dawn.

Why don't cows have calves in good weather?

everything is affected by barometric pressure, moon cycles. You were probably born on a full moon and it was storming out side.

I was born in July. The only thing I can remember is that it was really hot.

Well the weather man miss it. The rain didn't move in so it was a very mild night and no new calves this morning. One heifer looks like something may be starting to happen. We have a 100% chance of a rain after lunch. That should be about right. :|

And half would have pneumonia, scours and who knows what in 3 days or less. At least in this neck of the woods, summer is not the time to be having calves born.
