Got a call from the vet this morning just to let me know that all of my bulls are neg. for Trich. I started thinking how many folks actually test for this in the southeast. It also gave me a subject to blog about so check out the latest blog on Trichomoniasis at http://www.gizmoangus.blogspot.com Has anyone on this site ever had problems with Trich if so could you share you experiences with this disease?

Can't say that I'd ever heard of it until Texas started requiring that all bulls bought/sold had to be tested for it.

Still understand very little about it. Seems cows can be infected, but they get over it in a few months. Bulls don't. How would a bull get infected? Maybe cows are the carriers after they recover?

Beats me.

In all the stuff I read it never said how it started just what it is and what you can do to prevent it. It could sure do some major damage to a program if it gets into your herd that is for sure.
