I went to my local sale barn last night b/c they were going to have a special cow sale. My local barn is not known for their special cow sales (can't remember when the last one was). Anyways, I guess poor advertising and catching people off guard led to good fortune for some. Of course there were the culls that no one should want, but there were also some decent crossbred animals run through. Didn't seem to matter what color, age, or period they were in, almost all cows brought between 500 and 700 dollars. If I had sold some I would be sick to my stomach. I only bought 4 b/c that is all I have room for at this moment in time, 3 CharX and one RAngusX all 3 yr. olds in the 3rd period and all of 650 buckaroos. Wish it had happened a couple of months down the road and I would have gotten more. Later, I wish I had bought more and shipped them the next day to another sale up the road that is being held later this week.

Those prices seem to be in line with what cattle are bringing here, especially cattle that are third trimester going into the summer.
