How often does everyone have the bearings packed? Another question that I had, if I have wooden floor boards, I can't have it acid washed can I? I had to do some transporting in the winter so spraying things down wasn't really an option at the time.

Thanks

One a year for the bearings, don;t haul much anymore. Have those bearing buddy hubs so I just grease them with a grease gun. We have thick stall mats on the floor. Wash the trailer out after each use. Aftert the last load we pull the mats so the floor doesn;t trap moisture. Put them back when we haul the first load the next year.

Have oil hubs in mine and have to have safety done every year, so they get new oil then. I clean out 3 times a year, once in spring, summer and late in fall, spraying down with pressure washer. Winter doesn't get cleaned out, but also don't haul much then either. I am going to put stall mats into it this spring.

My axles have grease nipples inside the dust cap.. I give them a few shots of grease if I know I'm going to be hauling a heavy load.. I try to rock the top of the tire to check the bearing clearances and snug up a little if I feel any slop.

pressure wash everything when weather permits after hauling cattle.

My cattle trailer made 13 trips to the sale barn at 60 miles one way. 1560 miles

Two round trips to another sale barn 55 miles away. 220 miles

14 round trips from the farm to the house. 644 miles

a round trip to the processor 50 miles

That's 2474 miles total. Esentially nothing compared to other trailers and my trucks. In ten years that's not even 25K miles. Wheel bearings are not a big concern to me.
