trailer gvw ?

I looked at an equipment trailer today that had two 10k axles under it but a gvw of 22,400lbs. How can this be?

the trailer has a 22,400lbs thats total loaded weight.including the trailer weight.trailers can always carry a tad more than their axels are rated for.i dont think your going to have to worry about overloading the trailer.

Part of the weight is carried by the towing vehicle, tongue weight.
