There have been a couple of terrible tragedies locally lately that have alot of families shocked and devastated. Both men were right at 50 years old and both had grown up and lived their lives right here in this community. One grew up a mile from me and the other lives on his farm 1/4 mile behind my back fence.
One was riding his 4 wheeler and no one knows what happened. He lost control and slid off the gravel road and crashed and died of massive head trauma. No one knows if he lost control in a slide or if he was run off the road by a hit and run driver. He had cut wood on us for many years. He leaves behind a wife and children, brothers and sisters.
The other happened late in the day yesterday. He was cutting wood and cut down a tree and the tree hit and sprang back and hit him in the chest and crushed him. He died instantly. He leaves behind a wife, daughter, grandchildren, brothers and his parents.
Please keep these families in your thoughts and prayers as they go through these times of great sadness and difficulty.

We will be praying for the families stocky. With the cold weather a coming people starting to cut wood we all need to remember to be carefull when falling trees.

Around home, people believe that deaths come in 3's. I don't know if it is true or not---but when you think of it, it sure does seem that way. Last week, a neighbor who grew up and lived across the creek was cutting wood, and fell over dead from a heart attack. He was 61, had a brother killed in Vietnam, he was injured over there, he was a pain specialist doctor at a hospital in Springfield, M0, was in perfect health, never a heart problem and one of the most well liked guys around. Just goes to show that none of us know about tomorrow, or even our next breath.
