The work Lights on the m7040 need replacing. 3 of the 4 have stopped functioning.

Ive read about issues with LED lights interfering with radio or other electronic stuff. Anyonr know much about that? Id like to replace the 4 work Lights and also add a flood style light bar on front. Can the factory wiring handle led lights to replace the old style?

While on the topic, would like to put a front and rear light on a ford 5610 and a case 495, both from the early 90's and both currently have zero lights.

Very much am open to brand and light suggestions.

We had a T5.115 New holland and it came with halogen bulb lights. They were forever burning out and really weren’t that good. I just went on Amazon and ordered cheap LED work lights and the difference was amazing, and I never had one fail while I had the tractor. LED lights draw a lot less amps than conventional lights. Can’t comment on radio interference, we are far enough away from a radio station that they always sound crappy.

I put LEDs on our tractor and they are far better than the factory lights. I think they are NiLight brand off Amazon. They do interfere with the radio. I also have them on our cube box on the feed truck and as soon as they come on the radio gets fuzzy. The only thing I've heard on it is the better quality the LEDs are the less they interfere with the radio. I don't buy the cheapest but close to it.

According to Google you can buy ferrite bead clips to clip on your light wires to reduce radio noise.

I've got cheap Amazon and Harbor Freight LEDs on just about everything anymore. We only have one radio station that isn't worth listening too so no idea on that front.

The light from the LED's is FAR better than anything that came before. I've not had the radio interference issue with them, but maybe that depends on the brand/quality of lights?? Get as many LUMENS (per light fixture) as possible, and then also check what "color" of light they give off... I prefer those that are at 5000 - 6000K... very white light, not yellow or blue... "daylight"... You can have way more light per amp draw, but if ramping up the amount of light pretty high, you can still reach some impressive amperage draw levels. And don't overload your wiring then... I added a bunch of halogens many years ago replacing the old 1980's incandescent candles that the tractor came with so I could work at night... started melting wiring! Takes alot of LED's to get to that stage, but it's still possible if pushing for big lighting. And if you go too far, you might need a bigger alternator too.

So yes. Ive had some issues with leds overheating blade fuses . Not blowing them but melting the plastic case. Always during extended usage and usually multiple lights on one fuse. I use 12 guage marine wire now and try to keep a reasonable amount of lights per circuit. Some come with ridiculously light guage wiring.
Lumens is a lights ability to generate light in all directions. Candela is used to measure the ability to throw light in one direction. I know of no leds that list candelas. Usually only seen on high end flashlights and wmls. However most quality leds do list beam distance. This is what counts is you want to see "down range" . If you just need to see a 100' circle around your tractor in a familiar area. You probably can get by without worrying over beam distance. But if you work in unfamiliar areas or just like being able to see way out ahead. You need to look at Candela or beam distance. Lumens can be very high but not give you what you want.
You're not going to get much of a light from Amazon for 20.00. There are some decent lights at TSC. 75.00 or so for a good 5" spot/flood. 150.00 and up for a good bar. And there's some very good marine lights with remote aiming that will allow you to view the your deity on the darkest nights for around 1500.00

My new tractor seems to be well equiped with lights but I'm yet to use them, once the sun goes down I'm inside. It also has windscreen wipers but unfortunately I've yet to use them.

I use the lights a lot feeding cows in the winter, this far north it’s not light for very long in Dec and Jan. But there are a few months of the year I don’t get to see the dark because I nap through it.

I remember changing my lights over to LED on the Toyota. With the old bulbs, the blinker was slower. But with the LED, it blinks fast as LEDs don't draw as much power and the system thinks the bulb has failed or gone out, so it goes into the trigger mode to let you know.
One man that moved here from up North was behind me and I had stopped at the end of the road going onto the highway. He said, "You have something out on your Toyota as your blinker is flashing fast." I asked him if he ever changed any of his bulbs from the old style to the LED; he says no." So I explained it to him and he just shook his head and went back to his truck." Not sure if he bought the idea or not, but when he changes out a bulb in his truck he will figure it out.

Older tractor lights are always a pain. My small 950 has lights, but my 3020 and 4020 does not.

The speakers in the newer cab John Deeres, definitely put out some sound. Sirius radio would be great if you are on the tractor every day for an extended period of time. So many stations to listen to like having a satellite or fiber optic service where there seems to be 1000 shows to watch. I remember my husband going through all the stations constantly on the TV and when a commercial would come on, he starts surfing the channels again. You would be watching a good show and I would go nuts when he started changing the channel as he never made it back to the show when it came back on. So I put a TV in the kitchen so I could watch an entire show. I watched the series, "The Walking Dead," and have been watching it again. Now I see so many things that I missed while he changed the channels. Never did watch the add ons.
I suppose with GPS on tractors now, you could surf all you wanted to since the tractor takes you where you need to be.

New Holland doesn’t even put external radio antennas on their tractors now so if you don’t Ranch beside the radio station your only listening option is white noise over barely audible radio signal

Radio interference from some LED lights is absolutely real. I have no idea why you would suggest otherwise, it's very well documented.
