Looking at possibly buying a track skidsteer anyone have a preference? Doing normal ranch work and some custom fence building with vibrating driver. Narrowed it down to either a Takeuchi tl8r2 or Kubota svl75-3 anyone have any experience? Thanks

I've got a 75-2 and it's been a good machine. Only Tak I've used was a rental at work and it was herky jerky and not very nice to operate. It was a rental though. Last year my nephew bought a new Bobcat T66 and I ran it for a bit last week. It operated nice and was extremely quiet in the cab. For fence or ranch work I'd want the roll up door though.

Vertical lift is a must have for loading/unloading material or driving post.

Neither of those brands would be on my list to own so I won’t offer a preference there. Definitely would highly recommend vertical lift for what you want to do with it. You will love owning one. Not much in this world as handy as a track skid loader.

A linkage that lifts the loader in nearly a vertical plane, vs a radial lift that raises in an arc.

As a radial loader goes up it gets closet to the body of the machine.

A radial lift. Rigid lift arms attached at a single fixed rear pivot point. The bucket attachment point moves in an arc around that rear point.

A "vertical lift". Extra moving links between the arms and the fixed rear pivot point and an extra brace on each side that pivots to keep the system in the correct position so that the bucket attachment point comes closer to moving vertically up and down. But the bucket tilt position still has to be adjusted while raising and lowering to avoid dumping the load over the back or front of the bucket.

Quick availability of parts and service are important if you need the skid steer for your daily work. Brands with parts that often need to be shipped from overseas might cause some grief.
