Tornados in OK

Anyone near there or know of anyone that has been affected??? See where one hit Enid OK.

Also heard something about some bad fires in GA???? Due to the drought conditions...
Yeah. One in Brantley county and one in Clinch county/ 120 homes lost so far between the two. One was caused by a Mylar balloon caught on a power line, and one caused by outside welding. Over 50k acres between the two. LOTS of timber lost, and a lot of pasture lost. I got hold of someone I knew and had traded horses with for years, and went down there and got 57 cows and calves, and brought them back up to those 290 acres I had bought a few years back, right beside our Kudzu place. Hasn't had a cow on it in a little over a year, and the type cows he has will be in hog heaven on it. (I gotta tell y'all about these cattle later on.) I have never seen anything like it in my 70 years in person. I have seen videos and stuff of western wildfires before, but being out there amongst it was devastating. They gonna have to have some rain, quick, or I don't see how it will stop. Say a prayer for the crews fighting this, if you will. I don't see how they are still going. They don't get paid enough, I tell ya that. It is like fighting a war.

Some of the fires in South Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, are in bog areas where they are actually very hard to put out. Some of the places might burn for days or weeks even and then when the weather conditions are right they almost explode. I worked a fire a few years ago that started in GA and burned into Fl north of Lake City. Seems like it was 435,000 acres. Most of it was stopped on the existing roads.
Hope they get some rain soon.

If I can manage, I'll take a couple pics tmrw. Very destructive Tornado. Mostly rural damage, but a bunch of homes were lost.

All I got done this evening was count cows and calves. Both water gaps are blown out. Over 4 inches in less than an hour.

O wait! I took some water pics today!
Lots of rain In a short time. And this was nearly 24 hrs later.

Dang, I’ve been picking rocks between rain showers today. Wife got home from work and mentioned the tornadoes in OK.
Y’all have my prayers and I’m not too far away to provide some help. I’m semi-retired and still mostly able, very willing, so send me a message if y'all need anything

We didn’t have any severe weather around here that I’m aware of. We did have a nice rain storm earlier, but it’s moved south.
I’m sitting on the porch sipping bourbon and coffee watching the light show.

Just some driving by pictures. Too much activity to stop and cause problems. I found the fence destruction very interesting. The t post bent up like they were and what not. Some areas of 5 strand barb, the wire was completely missing! Then a couple hundred feet away all the wire still there but mangled and twisted and wrapped up amongst itself.
One of the buildings destroyed in this particular area used to be a veterinary clinic. They sold it to some pot farmers and it had become a real eye sore even with the fence they put up around it. It's gone now. Hope they had good insurance. It appeared they went out of production a long time ago anyway.
OG&E at work. They been very busy but doing an excellent job!

Some fence and 2 pieces of heavy equipment. Lots of tree damage.

So weird how those t posts are bent like that. And in different lengths of the same fence, bent totally differently.

I did not travel the GreyRidge addition southwest of this area. There's only one way in and out of that place and I'm sure there is plenty of traffic causing problems already. NO DEATHS REPORTED!

South side of road where I took some pictures were cattle. I can't help but wonder how many took a ride on that Tornado. I did see some were moved behind another fence/feeding area.

Mother Nature has a way of being able to deal rather effectively with these wildfires. To us, we see 'instantaneous' loss and destruction. It's hard for us to see, but fires are a chance for rebirth or renewal. The destruction, change, and renewal is constantly happening. It is typically so slow that we do not see it. From time to time, nature's 'accelerator' will get stuck and the change is atypically very rapid. Fire brings lots of rapid death, but also rapid renewal opportunities. Mass wasting or landslide events are massive amounts of erosion that typically occur over a long period of time (years/eons) in a matter of minutes/seconds. Earth quakes can/do result in feet of tectonic plates sliding past each other in minutes that typically takes decades. Happing 'too fast' means a 'disaster'. Over the long haul, not so much. I do pray for those dealing with the fires. I've experienced these events first hand before. They are no picnic.
