Top 2018 Ranch Investments ?

Santa was not good to me so now I am reduced to laying out 2018 ranch investments and cash flow. My top three right now are clover seed for some old paddocks, water infrastructure for some new paddocks, and a cow maker Hereford bull for some that are too black. What's your best 2018 areas for a rapid return on investment?

Been there done that and went back to clover seed.

- stocker barns built

- fixing 2nd well on property to service them, installing cobett waterers

-clearing 20 acres or brush / clearing 5 acres of ash trees, converting into pasture / hay

-renting out new 150 ac purchase so they can spray / kill existing stand of ky31 fescue (30 acres) plant beans, and I'll convert everything to byron seeds grasses / clovers in 2019 spring.

-installing / configuring new cattle handling system for the (3) new barns to function smoothly.



hope i can get it all done.. I have 3 houses to redo as well.

Any single one is a worthwhile investment, preferably on owned land.

Got a new T7.230 NH tractor, probably can't consider it an investment, but the markets were good this fall and the price was right. Shouldn't have to worry about updating tractors for awhile.
Want to clear a quarter section and turn it into pasture this year, I think that may be considered a ranch investment. And some shiny new simmy bulls. Can't go wrong there

You wouldn't want to harass them with armed drones, you would want to use the drone to haul candy to them as a special treat ;-)

-Replacing our remaining longhorn girls with Angus girls.
-Another run of hand lines to irrigate with.
-Cross fencing to get more pasture available to the cattle.
-New sprayer for the ATV set-up, I have the one we have.
-New shelter for the cows.

And a new bird run to have turkeys for Thanksgiving b/c they're fun to have around.
