well im back from the beefmaster sale.i had 4 lots picked out.so when they came i started bidding on them.lot 44 heifer calf $4600 next lot pair $4800 next pair next pair $5300.so i ended up with cow bred 3.5 months to l2 captain sugar bull.got her for $3400.friend of mine got 2 opens heifers for $4000 ea.

a buddy and i was rolling thunder on the lots we wanted.the ring man stood by us because we was bidding so high.then my nphew got a cow for $5000 we really didnt like.but oh well thats him.

DB i told you need to keep the papers up on your cattle.every1 was wanting cattle today.

I guess. our cattle are as good as those w/o the paperwork. im going to keep one of our own for a bull. a lot of my pics are on the ranchers.net site. I think they look to easily be qualified but as you know...

the only one I have paperwork on is the bull...polled mandate 3

i have a feeling the sat assoc and assoc sales will be high from now on.from 1 sale to another i had to raise what i pay for cattle by $1000.and i may have to keep raising it from 1 sale to another.the goodthing is i still have cattle i can sale.

Buckner was saying that he heard they weren't going to have a spring sale in Sulpher Spring in 2015 is that true? I don't think that sale will reflect the prices probably a last sale of the year kind of deal.

I'm talking about raising your selling prices on your cattle.

the last time i checked they had the sale date for the may sale published.buckner is supposed to consign cattle to that sale.they wont send out papers wanting consignments till mid feb.

Yep there is a sale date for May I dunno why he thought they weren't having one. I wonder what he will take up there didn't have that many older heifers that weren't already sold and some of those are going to Crockett.

if not bred heifers.he may take some open heifers or cows to the may sale.i talked to the BBU pres a good bit at the sale.i wished id asked him if the may sale was for sure.the year it was canceled was because every1 was keeping what they had.plus it was the drought year.

He was saying he didn't want to sell any heifers under 15 months. I know I bought 3 that would have gone to Sulpher Springs but I am sure he could come up with something. In the field that the two exposed heifers were in there were three heifers he is keeping they were beauties would love to have bought them but won't sell them. Is Emmons still president or is Bounds now the president?

yes mackie bounds is the president now.ive known him since 2007.so we talk at the sales alot.

Never met him. He has some pretty young heifers but to young for what I am looking for. His bulls seem to be priced about right but heifers seem high.

depends on how you look at it.open heifers was selling for $4000 to $6500 at the sale.every1 wants the new bloodlines that the heifers carry.
