Last year we had a problem with toadflax in one of our fields. Never had it before except in very small quantities which I just picked but the neighbours across the road aren't doing a thing about theirs so needless to say we got hit. I tried using some Grazon which was recommended to me. It didn't seem to kill it however. The plants stayed looking healthy. I am thinking of spring chores and this is going to be the big one, any one had to deal with it before and what did you use? Anything involving a tractor is out. We hire someone to do our hay and don't own a tractor.
I've heard Grazon can be used to kill Canada Thistle, any truth to this claim?

Been a long time since I have heard of it. Had to look it up but found this you might be interested in. Copyed a sentence and pasted the link. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Herbicides that are effective in the management of yellow toadflax are limited. Metsulfuron methyl (Ally), thifensulfuuron plus tribenuron (Refine Extra), and a tank mixture of 2,4-D and dichlorprop (Estaprop) suppress yellow toadflax seedlings in cereal crops (see Table 1 for complete list of registered chemicals). No herbicide is registered for the control or suppression of yellow toadflax.

Thanks for the link. Last year I tried to find some of the stuff they have listed and couldn't. When I called the gov. to find out where to get it we got to talking and they told me not to use round-up (one of the few things I could actually find of course) because it would kill the grass.
