Tire waterer question

Ok just put in a tire waterer this week and i have a question. This question may be crazy but here it goes, is there any potential hazard to cattle from anything that could of possibly been in the tire such as fluid? For those who use them do you wash them out or just feel and forget? Thanks in advance
 
If they're fresh out of service, definitely. Wash them out well and let them sit in the sun for a couple days.

If they've already been sitting outside in the weather, I wouldn't worry. By the time we got ours mother nature had washed them out for us.
 
Wasnt planning on risking anything just curious as to what others do when putting these in.

Its been setting out for a while but ill prolly still wash it out before putting it to use, thanks for all the input.
