Time to wait between different antibiotics?

A friend was talking about what a vet told him. He just started using this vet but had gotten some Nuflor for some calves from another vet who did not make farm calls. Anyway in his search for a vet that did he was put in touch with this vet and during their conversation he asked what he had already done to the calves. He told him since he had given the Nuflor he had to wait 4 days before giving them Draxxin, which is what he was suggesting to treat them with.

I just did a quick glance at the labels and can't find anything to support this. In the past I have had a vet give me something to give a calf and if it didn't work he gave me something stronger, don't remember the time frame though.

Just want to be sure we don't do something wrong and mess up. I have actually given Resflor and not seen improvement in a couple days then followed up with Draxxin. Won and lost that battle before, maybe I caused the loss.

Each class of antibiotics interact differently with other types.

I don't remember seeing anything about Nuflor and Draxxin interactions, so the short answer is, I don't have an answer. You may need to contact the pharmacology department of a veterinary college-university to get and answer on how macrolide antibiotics (Tulathromycin:Draxxin) interact with Flofenicol (Nuflor).

On a side note, Penicillins and Trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole tend to increase their effects.
Penicillins and tetracyclines tend to cancel each other (so do not mix those two together).

Needless to say, combining different antibiotics will mess up the withdrawal times and you will need to contact gFARAD for drug withdrawal info:
