Questions:
1) usually calf is born in -

2) how long in months till weaned?
Want to purchase my first weaned calf next feb or march.
Hopefully Polled Hereford. Just read they were a good starter to learn with.

3) how much weight at weaning?

4) How much weight is expected for slaughter

5) How old would that steer be at slaughter?

Ok you guessed it real green.
Just doing as much homework as possible untill I buy my first next spring.

1 calf is born yr round 2 weaned at 7 months 3 weaning weight should be 500lb give or take 4 butcher at 1000 to 1200lbs 5 take 8months or less to finish scott
 
Thanks scott this gives me a heads up when to start preparing and get the structures in place.
 
Just a little clearity

5) is that a total of 8 months or is that 8 months after the 7 month weaning totalling 15 months old
