Time Flies by

I just realized today that I joined this forum over 20 years ago.
Congratz! Wonder if theres like a Cattle Today Hall of Fame?🤔🤔😉
I was researching different breeds of cattle in high school when i stumbled up this forum. Time flies for sure. This year marks my 20 years out of high school. 👨‍🦯👨‍🦯

Oh me!! branxchar&am, I want to swap with you. Ha-ha-ha!! I want to be 20 years out of high school too. 😊 So you have been here as long as I have on the forum, but got you beat all to hell on the high school thang. Try 50 years. When I was 17, and even thought about looking 50 years forward into the future, I was so young and green, I thought I would be 17 years old the rest of my life. And here I am!!

I graduated from HS 56 years ago this coming June 5th. Been 21 years here on CT in July. But 2004 was the first year they made you register. I was here a couple years before that.

farmerjan, If I had to write a book about my adventures in the last year, it would be a short story, more like a paragraph. I have been trying to get my horse ready to ride with a saddle on, and me sitting in it. ☺️ Been riding him bareback and he turns and backs well. He has been wearing the saddle as I take him for walks tied to a lift pole with a good length on the lead rope. I use my smallest tractor as he can see around it and he seems to enjoy looking around as his ears are up and we take it easy. It is about a 4-5 mile circle. I can't wait to ride him on this path.
Monday I go for my second visit to the doctor to get a partial knee replacement. I want to get that behind me. They say the partial knee replacement is not near as bad as a total. You keep both end of the bones and they just cover the ends of the bones that are touching.

Had a heifer born two weeks ago. She is doing fine.

That has been my mundane life.

So, what have you been up to this past winter? I hope they did not lie to you about February temps in your state being warmer than normal for February as they did for this area. It has been one cold month.

54 years out of high school in June... graduated in 1971.... born 1953, 71 and counting now...
How did I get this old?????
@Chuckie ... yeah, same old same old here.... Except the prices have been very very good compared to what we were used to living on.
Feb had some real cold,, but then, January had some brutal cold with lots of teens and some single digits... some snow and really bad ice and the wind has not stopped. We got another couple snows in Feb, one 8-10 inches... and the wind has kept on. Don't remember all this wind throughout all the winter like this year. March is starting out windy too.
Got about 15 calves on the ground, 2 dead to start, but better since then. One set of twins so far.
Looking forward to some warming up, I see some daffodils pushing their way up through the ground the last couple days.
We are still in some pretty dry conditions overall... snow and all went a long way to helping but the wind sucks it all out of the ground in a hurry.

Ya'll are all some youngsters. Turned 80 last December. Graduated 63 yrs ago and joined Navy. Spent my 21st birthday in Hong Kong. Best birthday of my life.
I had the opportunity to be invited to a wedding party dinner at a grand ballroom. Probably 200 people. I was nervous being the only one speaking just english, until the Bride and Groom arrived. He was an Englishman and was even more nervous than me. His eyes lit up when he saw me and we got invited to sit at the Wedding couple's table. I lost count of the courses served but the food just kept coming as fast as we could even try to eat it all. Great night!

Fast Forward only a few years and Hong Kong was rather boring. I was there in '77 or '78. Can't remember now. (I said goodbye to RVN on my 21'st birthday. )
