Time between herds????

Raising quanity bucket calves. Leaving 10 days between herds. Is this enough time between herds for health reasons? We use lime on the ground and spray everything else down with annihilator. Having trouble with some mortality and wondering if this could be the problem. Thanks, Hillside

Shouldn't have a problem with time between herds. Try washing down pens with a disenfectent between calves. Are you getting all your calves from one place? We had problems a few years ago. We were getting calves from a couple sources. Started getting death loss. Noticed all the calves dying were coming from the same source. The calves not dying were from the other source. Stopped using the bad source. Solved problem.

We figure three weeks to clean up our precon pens and chicken houses.Maybe a week less if its hot and dry or the sun can hit the pens.
