Working on a two-piece driveline and there is a rubber boot between them. The problem and question is, the new rubber boot is very tight. I heated the front end and stretched it enough to fit. Now I can't get the rear to fit in the hole on the boot. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Are you sure you are installing the correct part. Possibly your carrier bearing is damaged. Is this an older Chevy. I have changed those before, but it has been years ago when I had more energy than cash. Good luck, Tom

It's a Volvo wagon. I replaced the carrier bearing. This is the new rubber boot or seal that fits behind the bearing on the front driveline female end. That end is on. The problem is the other end of the boot, which fits over the male end of the rear drive shaft. It's too tight. I'm thinking of cutting a slit and then glueing after it's installed.
Thanks

If it's possible, shove the male end in a bucket of ice for 3 or 4 hours. Then take a hairdryer and heat the rubber end. Don't forget the grease.
