JS, I have a friend I see at the YMCA. He is the administrator of the insurance division at the Maysville Hospital where I reside. He said that the insurance situation right now as a result of the Affordable Care Law is an absolute disaster. He said those on the border who don't meet the criteria for affordable care have seen their insurance either cancelled or going up. The worse situation was a woman (she had a very limited plan) whose plan did not meet the law and as a result she had to seek additional coverage. Her cost went from $75 a month to over $600. He said that NO ONE knows what is in this law.

He said people who check in for treatment have decided to postpone treatment until they satisfy themselves what their cost is going to be. I guess unless you work it every day like he does, you have no idea how much of a train wreck it is.

To be balanced, he says there are some good things in the law. He said the co-pays will transfer a significant government cost to the patient. That is a fiscal benefit to taxpayers.

I am relaying what he told me as we rode stationary bikes. He may be full of crap.
