I know this isn't the best picture for evaluation but it's all I have. The big fool ran me out of the field before I got too many taken.

Just a guess but, considering he ran her out of the field, not too good? LOL Sorry, I couldn't resist! :)

He is pushing 8 years old. Starting to show in his temperment now.
Here are some of this years calves out of him. I kinda fancy them pretty good. Make good cows with lots of milk. Calves can get a bit short necked, but sound in general.

Middle hfr and last hfr look like some pretty nice hfrs. The 2 on top are what, 2 or 3 yr.

The white marking on the face of the last heifer looks like "Huckelberry Hound"! Remember him? You gotta' sorta' use your imagination. Wife Ruthie says, "You're weird"! Must be real love!

Nice bull and offspring. Too bad he's getting testy in his old age.

Certs...
always enjoy the pics. i have to tell you though, i dont particularly like any of these animals. the best looking ones to me are the last two pictures, i like the middle heifer the best (she reminds me of 47 which i find amusing). are you planning on keeping them? i really dont like the first heifers, especially the one i can see well. but who cares.
as for the bull, youre right, its not a good picture. he looks dumpy and squatty to be all grown up and doesnt seem to have a very good butt which i find to be the major flaw with most simmental bulls. i like the simmental breed a lot though. would love to see a better pic of him that proves me wrong. especially a butt shot. he does however seem to have a good topline and good depth. is that what you call a black hereford? (lol)

The heifers in the top picture are the oldest of this years calf crop. I'm on a knoll shooting down on them, distorts the pictures a little I guess.
The bottom 2 calves are may babies and will be retained. Heifers don't seem to inherite the sire's attitude. He will probably move on after next year. He is a Meyer 734 out of a chifer cow. 8 years ago the 734 semen was still somewhat affordable.
Here is another picture of him, it was getting dark and I'd been run out of the pasture so he is a bit far away. Thanks for all the opinions.

Good looking bull and calves. Are you going to breed the heifers to your H.H. bull? would like to see a better pic of him ( H.H. bull) Is he from that place you told me about?JHH

Matt, sorry no updated pictures of the HH bull yet. I guess I need to get that done. Sold some semen to some local commercial breeders yesterday. SHOCKED me to death. Never expected that. Most folk aren't wanting the horns.

JHH, Those black heifers will most likely be bred to the HH bull. Just cause I know I will get a small calf, even with the hybred vigor. I havn't found a "calving ease" clubby bull yet. Don't think I will either. Those black heifers aren't as wide hipped as I'd like.
Yep, the HH bull is from the place I told you about. Great folk out there.
