I am inclined to agree. For as advanced a species as we are, we are certainly capable of great destruction. Mr. Smith has quite an interesting, if not accurate, assessment of our species.

Oh..the irony..
I didn't open the video, but I assume it's from The Matrix. Mr. Smith is of course, a fictional character and
fails to realize humans are a resource as well as a user of resources. It's not surprising tho, (script writing notwithstanding) that Smitty came to his conclusion seeing as he was the cat daddy/el supremeo of all narcissists.
It's not lost either, that the Machines used humans as their one and only energy resource .... humans, to the Machines, were nothing more than power generators.
Without human intervention, 01 (Zero One) has grown to tremendous size. It runs on a combination of nuclear fusion and neuro-electric energy generated by the billions of humans in its power plants, which are connected to the Matrix.

The Matrix existed simply to keep humans from destroying themselves, so that the Machines could use them for the Machines' own survival. The base sole purpose of the Machines was simply to survive no matter what.
