Those starving children

Friend of mine has a mess on his hands. He leased his store to some non feather wearing Indians and they left him in a bind. Not only were the Indians in the grocery business but they also were in the car selling business and were doing pretty good at it. Reason was they were accepting the car payments through the grocery store and would let their car buyers pay for them with their EBT cards. They got caught and my friend kicked them out of the building but the location is now marked somehow and EBT cards are no longer accepted which puts a hurt on the grocery business even though its under new management. Good thing though, the new grocer has lost that clientele but now has new customers like myself who appreciates not having to wait in line behind the urchins who used to make up the majority of the business at this location.

Now granted its just me and my weird way of looking at things but I don't understand why the government would mark a physical location as bad if its under totally new management. To me, it would seem more reasonable to refuse EBT cards and any benefits to all those who used them improperly to buy cars and such. I guess its just selfish of me and I'm not thinking about those starving children and boy do they have a lot of them.

That is stupid to kick a building out of the EBT program, no matter who owns it. Maybe they had a run of people re-opening with a new LLC in the name of family members or the dog or whoever and going right back to their same old tricks????

Sounds like some kind of discrimination of stereotyping racism to me. The Good and Righteous Reverand Al needs to come camp out there and stand up for that building's rights.

I can't believe they shut the non feather wearing Indians down. I mean it's just wrong to do that to them and really really wrong to not let the poor oppressed brethren pay for their cars with the ebt cards. I say heads will roll when this finally reaches the right office in DC.

if they kept the former name of the grocery it gets black listed, he can get the EBT back in if they change the name , I had a grocery store and we kept the name and could not get a fish and game terminal, as that is what we were told , I sold it after the kids dad died as I could not do it by my self with 2 small kids, new owner changed the name and got a terminal

Sadly, some kids probably did go hungry from this fiasco. Strange world we have here.

So, is it just a matter of time before someone sues the store saying they are discriminating because they refuse to accept EBT? I doubt that all of those customers believe it is the government that has forbidden accepting EBT's. There will be alot of them think the store is discriminating against EBT users.

I'm sure they will get off the black list once they jump through the proper bureaucratic hoops but actually the store is better without it. It had really gone down.

Don't know what's worse; someone who exploits the poor like this or a parent who would deprive their children of their food for a shiny new car.

That's rather short sighted and unsympathetic Joe--they have to have the shiny new car. How else they going to drive down to the food bank or food pantry?

:lol2: :lol2: :lol2: There is more truth in that than many think. I'll try and remember to take a picture of the vehicles this holiday season when the church has their food give away program. There's some flashy cars in the lot and you are lucky if you can find a parking space. Makes me think of what Will Rogers said every time I see the circus. Sometimes I wonder why we even do it but then again I'm not to judge but there is nothing said about me not being able to scratch my head.
