Off for cataract surgery.
Maybe I will be able to actually see the computer screen again allowing me to agitate y’all on a more regular basis again.
Dang cataracts have made hunting with a scope almost impossible, good thing I do my deer with a shotgun.
They definitely have saved some black rooters against the woods for a background.

Good luck. I go to an eye surgeon Thursday to try to convince him to operate on my cataracts. The Ophthalmologist I see says I have should wait longer. Hmmm, I'm 77 years old, how old do they think I need to be? Convinced them to let me talk with a surgeon.

You will be amazed at how bad your vision was. I had both eyes done this spring and the clarity and color is amazing. The worst part for me was all of the eye drops after the surgery.

Mine were fine last January and went nuts by September.
I put the surgery off until after hunting season for me.
Mrs had hers last year and was amazed at how well she could see.

My optometrist told me probably 8 years ago that I was developing cataracts and would need surgery. I asked why not get that done soon. Since my belief is that surgery is tougher on older people and younger people recover and heal quicker. He told me that it was too soon. That I would need surgery in 2 to 5 years. Every year, my vision is worse. Every year, I ask if it is time for surgery and he says "2 to 5 years". After 8 years, it is still 2 to 5 years. I see him again in January.

Many years ago my mom had to have cataract surgery... at a dr appt he was explaining about how they had to "ripen" in order for the surgery to be most successful... when they got to that point, she had the one eye done and it was amazing the differences in how she saw. Then did the second one.
But, I would go to a different doctor for another opinion if the doctor keeps saying the same thing and you are "seeing" that your eyesight is getting progressively worse. What's a 2nd opinion going to cost? Your peace of mind...

When I had mine done, they put in one lense for near sighted and the other for far sighted. I don't need glasses to read anymore.

All the best CB, just make it clear to them what lens you want in, I wanted for good distance vision but seem to have it between the distance and reading, a bit annoying as I need glasses for reading and another set for distance, I can read at the computer without glasses as long as I'm not too close to it.

Thanks everyone!!! First one done this was like eating lettuce nothing to it. Now trying to read is really fun as the left doesn’t need anything and the right is blind.
Have to play pirate I guess until I get the other one next week.

But, I would go to a different doctor for another opinion if the doctor keeps saying the same thing and you are "seeing" that your eyesight is getting progressively worse. What's a 2nd opinion going to cost? Your peace of mind...

I’m lucky we have one e of the highest rated eye centers in the state in Nacogdoches.
My doctor she is amazing and with macular degeneration on top of things you want the best. Cost me the same to go to the best. I learned that with orthopedic surgery.

Started seeing a dot from my good eye a month ago. Dot changed to a spider web 2 weeks later. Optometrist checked twice in 7 days, a bleeder at the back of the eyeball caused the spider, she also found a tear in retina. Seeing specialist this Friday and will decide when we are doing laser surgery to repair.

Can’t let anything eye related go one minute IMO.
My oldest sister got her eye put out at five by a rooster, I have been anal about eye issues all my life because of that.

A tumor took half the peripheral of my right eye, I look after them both fairly diligently.
