These are just a couple pics for people who said my grass wasnt still green and still growing. I will have more as I take more pictures. I have some of before the cows got on it but that isnt really a good indicator.

Hey TCM 57, Where in Tenn are you. Grass should be about done growing, hu.

Grass has not been doing squat for quite some time. Katrina made our Fall hay, but we've been pretty dry for quite some time, with the exception of storms thru here Wednesday night...Most folks in TN. that have grass, dont have any or many cattle.

Tennessee,
i obviously missed the post that made you think you have to prove something to someone. could you direct me to that post? thanks, beefy

Well I have been harvesting tomatoes, eggplants, Bell peppers, Habaniero peppers, and Bannana Peppers until the hard freeze thursday finished off my plants. IF you have been getting enough rain in your particular locale (and I have not watered my plants since July), it is quite possible that you still have green grass. I certainly need to mow the yard again.

One more thing... I could have taken pictures at a farm I own that we have only used for hay this year, and on Oct.19, 2005 it would have looked just like your grass, before a hard freeze, was there this afternoon, and it's all brown. To me you have'nt proved Diddle E. Squat. Totally meaningless.

Folks I'm a newbie and I enjoy most of the post on this forum but I could do without the drawn out arguments. Folks are going to get a bad opinion of Tennesseans if they don't already have one. :)

If you can do without the drawn out arguments just don't read them.

It's only to prove a point that if anyone really cares, the grass was technically green a month ago. Before hard freeze occured. That's all.

Those of us that have been here awhile get along just fine with our " drawn out arguments" ;-)

heck iffin i wanted to i could post pics of my place in ok and claim it was az!!! would only make me a phoney!!!!!!
cowdirt! don't reckon there is any one on this board with any kind of a grudge against any place in the nation! only a disagrement with posters that have their head up the nile river!!!!
if you have spent any time reading the past posts of some of the GREAT folks on this board you would not have made the statement you made, some of the best information comes in bits and pieces gathered from the DRAWN OUT ARGUMENTS!
if ya don't like them move on :D

brown grass here but it hasnt rained significantly since hurricane dennis, either.

The main question is..... So? Be glad you have some nice green grass. I bet your cows are happy about it too. Ours was green until a couple of days ago when we had a freeze. Green might be an understatement. This year has been horrible in the rain department. If it wasn't for the measley 2" of rain we got from Rita, it would be much worse. It hasn't grown since September or so. The only tall spots were around the bull nettle plants. The cows won't go near them.

We were also still picking tomatoes off the vines until the freeze earlier this week. Every plant was coated in yellow flowers too. Made me sad to see them go since my grandpa planted them earlier this spring. Both are now no longer here. Nothing lasts forever and your pasture too will turn brown. :)

first of all i dont think anyone older than 30 (and that might be stretching it) would say "lameass". Second, it would be a "hole" in the ground, not a "whole."

In his defense, we did all learn a new word from him, so that has to be worth something. I still don't see how I properly use that in a sentence though.
