I had a little run in with a dumb thief this morning. I left the barn to run to the tire shop and when I came back a strange truck was parked at my barn with no one in it. I got out and looked around and found a guy inside my barn rummaging around. I'll skip the details of what happened next but I sent him on his way and called in to the sherriff's office. A few minutes later I have two patrol cars on site and I give them a full description of the guy and his vehicle. They ran the plate and it came back to a known crack head who has been thieving for his fixes. Since I thwarted any apparant theft there wasn't much anyone could do but one of the deputies decided they should at least go visit him for a further official prayer meeting. An hour later the deputies came back and said the come to Jesus meeting went really well and they seriously doubted that I would ever be troubled with this POS again. I asked him and the other deputy if it did happen again what were my rights as a citizen. They explained the new Castle Law we have in place and it now sounds like the law is finally on our side. Don't know if I'd fully exercise my rights under this law but it is nice to have options. Finally one that makes sense.

I had four Ritchie waterers stored in my horse trailer parked by my house that I brought from my farm in Nevada. They have been there for six years and I finally desided to install them, they were not there. It takes a lot of nerve to come onto another mans place and steal something like that. I guess It's time to dog shop, maybe a big mean one.

Gotta watch out for those druggies. Never know how they are going to react.
Wondering how he left so peacefully Jo. ;-) :D

hope he does not come back.

Are you sure you didn't lose anything ;) I cant believe someone would have the balls to do that with your barn being frontage right there. And what I really can't believe is how you let him walk away. Or more likely how he was ABLE to walk away.I woulda blocked his sorry ass in the gate with your truck and done some serious beat down inside that gate line. You got a lot of patience, ill give you that

Got to watch these crackheads I ran up on one stealing and he wanted to whup me until he looked down the barrel of a 1911. These guys are nuts and will do anything for a fix up to and including knocking you in the head. We have a real drug den located not far from here. I don't go anywhere without Sam.

I had a crackhead stealing the pins and tools off of my feed tractor for awhile. He never stole anything big but I spent more in diesel driving to get replacement pins and misc. small parts than the stuff was worth. I keep a few hives of bees down at that same place and one of them is HOT, so I finally started parking the tractor right in front of it. :D Bees are like dogs, they get used to the regular comings and goings of the same people but when someone new shows up at the wrong time of day and goes to making noise right in front of them... :hide: Shortly thereafter my theft problem came to an abrupt halt.

That explains my most recent encounter with a super. :lol2:

I had a run-in with some meth-heads a while back. They were running from the state police and came across my property. They were going to steal the farm truck and one threatened me with a hatchet. He changed his mind very quickly when I put the AR-15 across the cab of the truck and made them lay down in the tall weeds with the ticks and chiggers while I waited for the county mounties to arrive and take charge of them. I bet they are still scratching chigger bites :lol2:

You are indeed a patient man Jo. You should have treated them like you did your 2 crazy Brangus cows.....you know the ones with the blue ear tags that looked like they wanted to run our butts into the pond. :help:

Imagine having a truck with a tool bed on it and $20000 dollars worth of tools in it and come home from a 2 day vacation and the first thing you notice is every door on the bed is standing open. It will make your heart sink. Then having to show up for work the next morning and you don't have so much as a pencil to work with.

I wound up replacing some of them before my brother, working on a job in the next town, called and said there was a guy that was working on the same job as him that was trying to sell some tools that looked alot like some of what I was missing. The next day I showed up and my brother introduced us. To make a long story short, not only did I get all my tools back, I even wound up with some extras.

Haven't seen that guy since.

Actually started with five of these and I'm now down to one and only one got to ride on the trailer so far. The sole survivor of this batch of nuts is still as crazy as ever and is almost as mean as my X. But the cow (I'm referring to the Brangus and not my X) sure is defensive of her turf and may have thwarted some rustling on my place last month but I'm not sure. What happened was I went to feed hay and found four cows and about six calves penned up next to the loading chute. All the gates were closed behind them and I still have no idea how they got penned up without the help of someone but then again these are cows and do the weirdest things. But if there was someone involved in a rustling scheme I feel confident this crazy thing stopped it cause I think her life's goal is to kill someone. But she is one fine mother.

I know a feller that heard his truck alarm going off in front of his house one night and he grabbed his 45 and ran out the door to find a pothead had busted his truck window and had his hunting rifle in his hand.He turned pointing the rifle at him .The guy blew his kneecap out with the 45.Then pointed the laser sight right between the pothead's eyes.Wife called the sheriff while the pothead layed there crying in pain until the sheriff got there.Guy knew he had put the rifle back in the truck unloaded.
The shooter had to go to a hearing and that was it.
I'm going to tell you those those 230grain xtp HP can do some big time damage. And the laser light lets you put the bullet exactly where you want it to go.
Now this was quite a long time ago and I deny every bit of it.

Just seeing that lazer dot on your chest seems to cut through the drug induced fog pretty effectively. It's kind of like "everybody speaks shotgun" The slide racking on a shotgun or that red dot and even if they;ve never heard or seen it before, they KNOW what it is

We need to start a self defense fund for Americans that are willing to use their Gun Rights. The Judges are going to turn the thieves, and drug addicts loose with a slap on the wrist. Then their going to go some where and steal or rob, and possibly kill someone else. I leave a old Mossberg single shot in my barn at all times. My wife and I are not going to pass our problems on to any one else. All Americans have the right to protect themselves, their families, and their property. The good need to stick togeather, and fight for our rights as Americans.

Highgrit, that is the beauty of this new law. They don't have to be in your house or raping your wife before you shoot them. The law is finally on our side and it appeared that the deputies were really happy with this new law as it has worked well already once this year.

That's one of the beauties of being able to have arms. Ignorant stupid people understand them. The lever on a rifle speaks volumes and you don't even have to put your finger on the trigger to get your point across. If you ever met me you'd never know I was armed cause its not something I advertise and I will not brandish a weapon unless its a last resort. But rest assured if anyone pushes the wrong buttons with me on a normal day they better get back at least 500 yards and on some days they might better give me a little better than a 1000. But if they want to get up close and personal I have a little something for that too. And if the gaping hole in their chest isn't enough I'll just bite their ear off and job them in the eye right before I gut them cause I've never been one to believe in rules of engagement.

My wife and I pretty much carry all the time. But in the house the car or trucks we have our old faithfuls, 12ga. shotguns. When it comes down to it 2 #4 buck followed by 3 00's is hard to beat. The use of force use to cost around $10,000 in Attorney's fees alone, but thats a small price to pay for your Freedom.

I keep a pistol in my truck all the time but never think about carrying it on me once I leave the truck even tho I do have a concealed handgun permit.
