I don't know about ya'll, but he state of North Carolina conducts periodic surveys and livestock counts... they take it all very seriously,. and in the past, after playing telephone tag for a period of weeks, they would simply give up, and send out a questoinaire in the mail............

Well,I was kind of shocked, when the phone rang a 645AM this morning to see that the caller ID read...United States Goverment.... I knew right away it had to be important... thinking it could only be one of two things.......they were either calling me up for reenlistment, or they finally caught up with me after i checked out that porn site about 6 months ago..........

But upon answering it, I find the most pleasant deeply southern voice asking how many goats I had on the farm, the same for cattle, etc.......
I asked why she was calling so early.... she said they save tens of thousands of dollars not having to try to call over and over , as well as mailing costs, if they only start calling at 6am , after all, they were calling farmers!

About time some one started using the noodle they should have been born with....... :cboy:

Medic, A buddy of mine got a call from a Chemical company at 6 A.M. the other Morning. I can't type what he told the salesman.Needless to say they wont call back. I hear an awful lot of Farmer's around here saying they don't get up til 7 0r 8 in the morning. I say they're burnin' daylight.

I'll take the extra hour of heat out of the day sometimes to stay up that much longer in the cool of dark.

every time we get a call from a survey, we ask if they are paying for this imformation . And they always say there not- we tell them that imformation is confidential we get a lot less calls

I just tell the caller to hold on while I go get the home owner. I lay the phone down and go about my business. I'll come back later and hang it up. I don't have to argue, listen, or say no.

That is one of my favorites, too.
