. . . of a new 3.8% real estate tax that will go into effect in 2013 (after the presidential elections, of course), as part of the Obama Heath Care plan. So I checked it out on Snopes (see below), and I guess it just depends on what you have, on what will happen if you decide to sell your ground in the future. This is just FYI, and not for the sake of argument . . . .

I hate to say it but it is a fairly brilliant money grab. You'd be amazed at how many people are willing to look at the agreed apon price as money in pocket and never look at taxes/fees. It's the same people that sign on the line whenever a contract for something they want is shoved at them without ever reading the details.... Which, in my opinion, is how we wound up with leadership that would put something like this into effect.
