In celebration of my achieving GURU status (and the associated pay raise), I have decided to start the WV thread. While I will likely regret this, if anyone has questions concerning West Virginia, send 'em on and I will do my best to answer. For the tougher questions, I'll be enlisting the service of some of the other WV folks on here.

Okay. How much real estate is available over there in WV and how many red river crossing folks can we send to you?

Seriously, are there as many folks moving in other places as there are moving in around here? Being Texan in Texas gives me minority status. Why are all these people coming here?

Boogie... Think of as kind of like the Dustbowl Era. Things are going to he!! everywhere else and Texas is like heaven to those poor souls in places like NYC and WV...Z

And another question, is it legal to pass someone on the right side of the road?

Apparently it is illegal is some states. There was this old guy in a Weatherford gas station ranting and raving about everyone passing him on the right on the interstate. Thought he was going to have a cornary event. Started to ask him why he didn't simply pull over into the slow lane but I didn't want to set him off any more than he already was. He preceded to tell us the traffic laws of some state on the east coast. I could barely understand the poor guy. Guess if we ever drive over there some time in our lives we might ought to know.

I am in Southern WV and there's really very little movement into this area. I understand that there is considerable numbers of folks moving in to the eastern panhandle to work in the chicken processing plants. Probably not the most pleasant job you could ever do.

Please let us know if there is anything we can do to really boost your economy.

Nothing like having all these folks moving in and then listening to them tea kettling about how awful our way of life is.

I can't knock NY any. They took Hillary and they look as though they have made her happy and she's staying. Arkansas is just to close. If they keep her, we are forever endebted.

Do you have to give your parents two Christmas gifts if they are also your in-laws?

BB,

Saw something hanging in a store the other day with a tag on it that read " West Virginia Credit Card" Price was $6.00.

Looked to be about a 4-1/2 to 5 foot piece of 5/8 inch garden hose, complete with two white stripes.

What's it for??

There is definitely one intelligent person in West Va.

His name is Rich Rodriguez!!!!!!!!!!!!

There aren't any chicken processing plants in the eastarn panhandle at all!

There is a lot of overflow from Northern VA, DC and Baltimore. And it's bringing a lot of those "types" if you know what I mean brotha'

I just visited a website called "Kinfolk.com" and did a search of geneology in W. Virginia, and could only find 3 people who claimed no relation. Why is that? Do yall really have 6 toes on each foot?
