I wish I could time travel... Last fall we bought a bull, which means his calves will drop on the ground in a year, which means in 3 years I'll have first time heifers from him... But I want to know how good he is NOW!

Then with the heiferettes I have now, it'll probably be 3 or 4 years before they have a heifer calf worth keeping. I wish I could know how each animal will do in 10 years time now... it would make selecting them so much easier...

Then I've been doing some number crunching and spreadsheet work.. and to get even remotely close to accurate results I need a 50-100 data points, and if I'm dealing with replacement heifers, which I usually have 3 or 4 a year, that takes 10 to 20 years at my rate.

Patience is a virtue, Obtain it if you can, Seldom found in women, Never found in men!... I was told that years ago and I guess it has some truth to it!
