This is a 4year old with her 3rd calf . Second one by our Quaker Hill Rampage bull I sold back in the spring because of age . She is out of one my original registered black angus cows . I've tried to get a picture of her a couple of times but never really showed her color . IMG_7535.jpeg

Neighbor's bull is a black angus and has not been in our pasture. We redid our fence a few years back between us . 6 good tight strands of barbed wire .

I ain't plum for sure, but I believe that calf will end up being black.

I've had a lot of "black" calves that color that shed out to black in the fall, though it always seems to be the simm cross calves. I thought it was a simmental thing.

Got 2 of those color calves this year by an Angus bull. One is turning black and just has a little of the brown hair left

I've had them with a little red tint but nothing like this . Good heifer calf . I'm not negative to the color . Just know how the buyers at the stockyard view color .

To me, in this pic, it doesn't look red, as in SG red, or Red Angus red, or Hereford red, but more of a brown color. I too, have seen brown calves like this, with the black points, turn black as they age. Good looking cow and calf, too, though.

Of course with purchased cows you are never sure. This is from back in February. The cow is darn sure black and the calf is darn sure red. Probably a red bull but the cow still has to have a red gene. I saw him nursing on her in early May. I wish I would have had the camera. Would have been the same picture except he has grown a bunch.
