....the better I like it.

1) Shorter interval between cutting and "being finished" with the product.
2) Let it rain, who cares? Keep on movin'.
3) The silo is already mostly completed.
4) I've got a shortage of storage place for square bales.
5) It's said the animals prefer silage to dry bales during the summer.

Did I miss anything?
 
The biggest thing with silage is the amount of labor it takes to get it done. I usually have a guy chopping, a guy hauling and a guy packing. Sometimes there just aren't enough people available when it's time to make silage. If you do decide to go with silage pack as much as you can. The tighter the better.

I saw that post, interesting concept one that I'll consider if I don't have a wagon that can unload via the PTO.
