This year, we didn't have any AI breeding done as I have a 2 yr old purchased Angus bull, and two home raised yearling bulls, an Angus and a Hereford. Have had the 2 yr old in the same pasture for a year, with no problems, pulled the few cows and calves that were with him out and put in 23 heifers, no problems for a couple weeks. Then Monday we turned the two young bulls out in different fields with cows. The younger Angus bull was next to the older bull, he went to the fence and aggravated the bigger bull. The next morning the big bull was in the field with him. He is very easy to work with, so I got him in the barn. Had folks fencing another field, so they fixed where he got through. Turned him out and the next morning there he was again in the field he wasn't supposed to be in. Got him in the barn, and spent the morning trying to figure out what to do, from selling him, to putting up electric fence. Finally decided that since he was purchased while they were high, and he would probably bring half or less than I paid for him, that I would try some electric fence.

Yeah I currently have bulls on either side of 2 strands I can easily step over - They don't bother it. The bigger guy stands there bellerin' at the smaller bull all day, but it's only temporary, till they head to other pastures. He stands out there roaring all day though the big dummy.

Other bulls already headed to their pastures, so It's only these 2 I'm dealing with, but they aren't making any fuss.
