The Greybeard Archives

I don't think I burned that many calories last MONTH. That's certainly not me, or a Marine like me--white trousers are for staff NCOs.
As a E-5 Sgt, I worked for a livin, and wore green, khaki, or blue trousers.
That's a young Sgt Maj--every one I ever knew was old, gnarly and tough as nails looking---not saying that one ain't tough tho.

He seemed very young to me, to have achieved that rank. I didn't know that was even possible. I don't have a military background though.

So GB, did you have as many hash marks on your sleeves? By the way, look at the next clip after the break dancing. Makes you very proud.

Silent marching group? Seen that in person once and was very impressed.

I couldn't tell how many hash marks the Sgt Major had--looked like 3, maybe 4. You get one for every 4 yrs of active or reserve duty.
I had 2.

It looked like he had four - and all gold. I've seen several super chiefs but only one with gold hash marks. By the way, for those who don't know the significance of the gold hash marks, they signify good conduct. A career military person that has been in that long to have an unblemished conduct record is remarkable.

HOO RAH!!!!
