When we bought that heifer, she was a little scrawny thing about 350 lbs. she took off growing she’s the tallest cow in the herd currently, she’s not the thickest but has filled out considerably compared to what she was.She just might come to be one of your favorite momma cows one day @Ky hills . He might not grow off as big as your others, but I bet you he will be as well taken care of as any of the others. If you were able to get her up and fill with her before she calved, you will be able to again in a week or so. And I can just about guarantee you that no coyotes, buzzards, etc will be able to get that calf, Or any others in the pasture with her!
Actually, she doesn’t seem to bother the other cows, she doesn’t even use her horns to push her way to feed. I hope she don’t learn to use them.Congratulations on the new COW!
What a good mama she is. On a fiesty one, I'll bring em both in the pen and sort the calf into a small pen to work while mama watches.
As an aside...
Does that cow use the horns on your other cows?
That new little black cow I got sure does. She's gentle as can be around people. But don't take no sass from NO cow!![]()
