We haven't had large numbers on our property for many years now, this is due to the fed available. 2012 we had our first drop of herefords and shorthorns (also crosses of them). They have turned out to be fairly good. Our plan is to continue to breed shorthorns over herefords to produce strawberry roan calves. We will keep the heifers for replacements and breed them back to H or S.

Just out of curiosity, what is your main GOAL in producing ". . . strawberry roan calves"? Are you determined to focus exclusively on the Single Trait strawberry roan color? Are you concentrating on any other traits in the Growth or Maternal arenas and/or their accuracies?
