Thank you for the great advice on getting the mastisis meds that are injected straight in the quarter.
Noticed yesterday that my Jersey didn't milk out completely on the left rear quarter. Called the vet immediately. He found nothing wrong.
This morning I tested the other three quarters and they were clear. That last quarter had large white clumps coming out of it. Milked her out and dumped the milk. Took me 30 minutes today instead of my regular 20 minutes to clean everything. Increased my bleach from about a 1/3c to 1/2c to dip everything in. Scrubbed like crazy.
Got the meds yesterday. How is that for timing?
Treated her immediately after milking her out. She was not too happy at first but calmed down after the meds were in there. Must have felt better.

Looks like no milk for the next 3 days. It says 60 hours, but jusy going to play it safe.
Got a fridge full of milk so we are good for now.
 
Is the quarter hard? I have a lotion called Udder Comfort that I rub onto any quarter that is hard and that seems to help a lot.
 
Yes it was hard those 2 days.
This morning it milked out completely and was much softer.
Checked my stripping cup and there was still a few clumps, but nothing like yesterday.
Got my mastisis test kit today. Needed it yesterday.
Going to test the other 3 quarters.

So glad that she is clearing up and that all is working out well. Mastitis kits are good, but you are better at knowing instinctively that something is off , you are on your way to becoming a great dairy woman . :D

Hubby was great at this, he loved milking and got to the point that he knew the cows were sick before they were symptomatic. Therefore treatments worked faster and the cows were back on the mend sooner .

I'm always checking her bag before milking and after milking.
when I strain it I'm always looking for anything that might be "off" of what was the day before.
Going to use the kit so I know what to look for with it.
 
have you shot another tube up in her since she still has clumps in her teat.i think id go ahead a treat that teat again.60hrs is 5 milkings so you must be using something like today.
 
Not yet bigbull. We are going to tomorrow.
When I checked this morning I had to take the black filter out and look at the bottom of the blue cup to see any clumps.

Good News!!!!!!
Checked her milk this morning and there was no more white clumps.
Only thing I saw was 2 very small clear clumps. Guessing they were about the size of a drop of water together. I had to look close to even see them.
