14,ooo acre fire in Bastrop County,300 homes burned that they know of. Fire 10 miles long and 4 miles wide. Lots of people evacuated.. Many fires in other parts of Texas,so no spare firefighters..winds up tp 30 mph..
The smoke is so thick it can be seen on radar.. Prayers for Texas,please..

We are still on fire here too. Still have over 100 firefighters tending to it. Have had smoke at the house for the last few days and the fire is about 60 miles from me.

Peg just say another headline....500 homes burned now and many more in harms way.
 
Fire came within 1/4 mile of our pasture near Magnolia, Texas. We were able to evacuate all our cattle to a neighbors place a few miles away. Still concerned about our hay and 2 tractors. Looks like the fire is somewhat contained tonight. Just a relief to be able to get the cattle out to a safe place.

We are sorry for all who were less fortunate than we were. Reports are that 20 homes have burned so far. Not as big a fire as some but still a bad experience for all.

The winds have died down,so the fire is no longer traveling at 40mph.. Gov Perry was here yesterday
says the fire looks "mean"
I have a "bugout bag"packed,even tho I'm in little danger.. :hide: ..makes me feel better to have somewhat
of a plan - tho I'd hate to try and outrun a 40 mph fire in a 4mph powerchair.. :frowns:
