has anyone fed this before? its a type if sea kelp that is suposed to lower thier body temp, help hair and increase appetite.

You need to keep from trying to find all these diferent supplements. I would find one supplement like Showbloom and a good mineral.

I'm just researching. anyway showbloom is too expensive.

Don't worry I know the basics of how to feed, I'm not going to screw up my steer by messing with is feed. After all the questions that I have asked I have only made 1 change and that is switching feed.

Showbloom is $48.00 for a 50# bag. Look at Oxy-gen and Shag, they are in the $200's.

how much is it per feeding, thats what matters, I definetly wouldn't feed any thing more than .5 $ per day as a supplement.

I have never tried it or heard of it. but i agree with cowboy

The best mineral that i have found out there is vita-firm. they make a pelleted formula called Show Champ. I works really well and I have yet to find a calf that wont eat it.

Im not sure if it is avalible in your area, but it is worth every penny. BTW, it is only 13.50/50lb bag.

;-)

he is on a vitamin/ mineral/ probiotic supp. right now

I am just trying to learn everything I can, in the end I will do what I think will help my steer the most, and that doesn't mean feeding a million diffrent supplements

Is it similar to the melatonin that everyone talks about?
I've not heard of it.

I don't think so, the main benefit of this is it helps lower the body temp which helps with their appetite, and a lower body temp probably also helps with hair

Purina puts Tasco in all their show feeds. It does work.

You may also want to consider Showbloom in addition to the Tasco. A fity pound bag should last 90 days. At $50 a bag that figures out at $.55 a day. I buy for $40 a bag.

Melatonian is what you give to calm them before a show.
