So yesterday I get home from work about 5:30 and an ambulance is in my front yard. My wife is in the yard crying. My neighbor tells me my 86 year old dad has had an accident on the farm. I run down to where his truck is and several guys from the volunteer fire department are standing around him sitting on the ground. When he stopped to open the gate, he didn’t get it in park. When he gets out the truck starts backwards with the door open. He tries to jump in to stop it but slips down and the front wheel rolls back over his leg and stops on top of it. My wife hears him yelling when she take the dog out. She call 911. The fireman jacked the truck up and pulled him out. He is taken to the ER for x-rays. No broken bones, I bring him home and he walks in the house with just bruises. Tough sob

same thing happened to my dad a few yrs ago luckily he was only bumped and bruised and a little disoriented at first as to what had happened
he celebrated his 84th birthday last month
thank the lord we still have them around to do absent minded stuff like this and to remind us that we will be in their place before long
I am glad everything turned out ok

I remember some kids named Wolf. They were hookin' up a 501 mower and fighting with each other. Dink backed the tractor, I think it was a 601 Ford, up over Curtis's stomach. Curtis just cussed him, and went on and hooked up the mower. Douglas, glad he's ok. gs

AC I think you hit the nail on the head, the scary part is I think I've already started. Glad this one turned out ok.

I think I have also and I am only half his age
my dad has had his fair shair of injury and if he wasn't as tough as he is it would of killed him, back in 77 he had a dozer go over a bluff with him on a road job, then on 84 he got knocked off of a 36ft tall tank and fell 12 ft and got double over a 24" pipe backwards and then fell the remaining 20ft and landed on his head on a concrete floor
he had a broke back, split sternum, shattered wrist and hand, fractured leg and his hard hat liner scalped him
he was back to work in 3 months running a crane although the Dr.s wouldn't let him drive for a yr because of his sternum and he would of been back to work sooner if mom would of let him
