A few grain guys are still hoping for huge China purchases, but most agree we have too much grain. Less hope on livestock side with production being up and restaurant traffic being down for a while.

Meanwhile back at SGF they they are walking readers through gross margin analysis and stocking optimization, again. With current beef prices - - most would be better off by culling hard, grazing longer, and/or selling a little hay. No new news there.

A few futurists are beating a drum that conventional ag is over in the US. Input prices are just too high to compete globally. They have a point aside from details like food safety and supply chain security. Some producers are going back to the future by incorporating livestock, growing their own fertility, and planting off patent varieties. There is always a way.

No one wants to go back to the 1950s ag systems, but might be the only way to go.
Feed what you grow, and start building fences.

Not many semi retired or weak end warriors building fence. Luckily, Trump found a the new way to do an end around Congress by sending CCC funded checks to grain producers. So not much incentive for set aside acres currently.

MN FBM sorts grain crops by manure applied or not. With manure applied has consistently higher returns per acre.
