A few grain guys are still hoping for huge China purchases, but most agree we have too much grain. Less hope on livestock side with production being up and restaurant traffic being down for a while.
Meanwhile back at SGF they they are walking readers through gross margin analysis and stocking optimization, again. With current beef prices - - most would be better off by culling hard, grazing longer, and/or selling a little hay. No new news there.
A few futurists are beating a drum that conventional ag is over in the US. Input prices are just too high to compete globally. They have a point aside from details like food safety and supply chain security. Some producers are going back to the future by incorporating livestock, growing their own fertility, and planting off patent varieties. There is always a way.
