Not where you are
Was running some mama cows through the chute this evening, and one backed up and squeezed me in between her and the alley, got a couple of broken ribs and a twisted ankle. I knew that there were some bad hinges on our suicide doors but, they've been working and I had put off fixing them, today I wish I would of fixed 'em. Had a mama cow come backwards in the alley and I went behind her to force her up and she backed through the door and squeezed me. Just a reminder to fix things that need fixed when you know they need fixed or as as possible afterwards. Now I've got hay to start cuttin monday and it shall be interesting, hopeing to do squares as it's decent alflafa but, rolls it will be now, loss of income and a few days work all because of procrastination.

I'm very sorry to hear about your injuries and their impact. :( We've all done it at one point or another, and I hope you mend very quickly! Until then, make sure your aspirin bottle is always at least 1/2 full - I find Excedrin works the best. ;-)

Yikes thats no good. Best wishes to you. :)

I have also found its best to fix things around our place. Our stall gate you have to lift the inner gate and hold the outers gate and push at the same time, which has caused some problems especially when you have feed. And the pasture gate was falling down on its last days and i decided to leave it low and behold me steer attempted to jump it and took the whole thing down. Anything that needs to be fixed, fix it ASAP

Very glad to hear you are gonna be OK Hereford and sad to hear of the injury.

Sometimes there is just so much to do it becomes a "wall" or barrier to getting anything done. Do I fix the roof, plant or cut , machine maintenance, clean pens - you all know the feeling. Fixing the stuff that keeps you safe first is a good option.

But I don't need it for 9 weeks so what the heck!

Take care and thanks for sharing a less than happy event.

Wish we were closer, I'd give you a hand with the squares.

Sorry to hear about your injuries.

That's one of the biggest things I gripe about to my husband, fix things when you see they are broken. So most of the fixing gets done by me.

Here's hoping you mend quickly. I've always found that the stupidity of the injury bothers me more than the injury itself. I've also found that there is so much to do that you have to prioritize the work. Then you end up needing to use whatever before you've had a chance to properly fix it so you try to make do as is. Some days I sure wish I was better at prioritizing.

One of the Networks needs to come up with a new show called "Extreme Make Over, Farm Edition" You could get a few years worth of chores done, and new barns and equipment in a day or 2.
