Has anyone here seen cattle with spikey looking hair on their tail rear their rear? I saw this on my friends Char/Angus heifer (Iowa) a couple years ago and asked why it was like that and she said you have to make it like that for 4-H. I looked around and the other calves had it too and people put hairspray or gel in it to make it look better. But then I asked my cousins why it was like that and my younger one knowing more about calves than me said thats just how it grows, so I had told her what my friend said about it being for 4-H...which none of the calves at our fair (Indiana) have it. And I'm thinking if it grows like it and it'd required for 4-H in Iowa, why isn't it for Indy too? Can someone please help with this hair thing I've been wondering about it forever and have heard so many different opinions now that I don't know what to believe  so I came to you cattle experts
