I heard on the NEWS today about the American soldiers killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan this afternoon. My sympathy goes out to the young lads families. There are to many of our Men being killed this way out there. Is it time to bring them all home?

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. God Rest their souls.

We lost another Canadian as well today.

The Canadian Press - KANDAHAR, Afghanistan - A Canadian soldier who sustained serious injuries in an IED blast last week while on patrol in Afghanistan died Monday at a hospital in Germany with family members at his bedside, military officials say
.

I agree.. :(

Never forget why we are fighting this battle. If we pull out or quit,we will lose are FREEDOM to the taliban muslim extremists. I mourn the loss of everybody defending us. GOD BLESS all the Soldiers. Americans should never forget 9-11. The muslim terrorist started this, and we need to finish it. Kill them all and let allah sort them out.

Assuming we have 24/7 survelliance, via geopositioned satellites, why do we need to be in Afghanistan with boots on the ground? We're there to prevent "Terrorist U" from re-opening. We can look at the pictures and those places are discoverable.

The problem is that too many think we can fight a sanitized war with no risk to our side.

too many americans have had it too easy all their lives and are spoiled and expect instant gratification in all aspects of their lives.

Well some things are just tough. War is nasty business. Either fight it to win or cut and run. You can never win when you have rules and the enemy does not. The object of war must be to defeat the enemy, not nation build. You have to defeat the evil before you can expose any good.

However, No one today would sanction a campaign of mass destruction.
look at all the "reports' of civilain casualties everytime there is a remote control strike on a known terrorist.
a campaign of mass destruction would multiply the enemy and strengthen their resolve by making enemies of those not currently involved. Our own press today would see to it.

If I had my druthers I would 1. pull back to our borders. 2. close our borders tight 3. stop sending our money overseas in foreign aid. 4. send the UN packing and stop financing them. 5. stop being the policemen for the world (let the French try it again). 6. smash the first ones to seriously saber rattle against us. 7. recoil and reload. 8. establish the price of oil at one bushel of wheat.
9. then go to work on the problems in our government and society.

You have a good point unfortunatly it only works when either the US or the UK do such things, nothing is said about the mass distruction on Civilians when it is us, ie. 9/11 and 7/7 those were looked at just sad loses to our communities, by the hand of terrorists. even before all of this we had it with the IRA bombs, if the English Soldiers faught back they were in the wrong shooting the would be bombers, but if a soldier or a civilian in England was blown up that was different no-one said mass distruction. One rule for them and one for us as usual.

All good points but I'd probably move #9 to the top and make it #1

I'd pull back to the fence around my yard. :?
Foreign trade is supporting the price I get for my calves, I don't think we can ignore the world.
On a gut level I agree, but I rarely get my way.

Price of freedom is never cheap.

A couple of things I would like to know. 1) Where is the money coming from for these a--holes to be able to buy the explosives? 2) Who's selling them explosives and arms? Seems to me if you stop the arms trade you would end this almost overnight. But I guess that's not politically correct to do because you might find that some of our "allies" are the ones supplying them with what they need. JMHO

surely you jest.
you are contributing every time you fill up your automobile.
I would be interested in your plan to stop the chinese and russians from selling weapons.
no doubt some of our allies are involved as well but then most of the oil producing nations are our "allies" as well.

If you listen to the NEWS it us ourselves that are supplying them with weapons, the guns used in the Iran War came from the secondhand department of both the American and British War Dept. as did some of the Tanks.
My Daughter went to Beirut a few years ago and she took photo's of the old battle grounds, and found Tanks with Manchester Football Team forever writen on it and one with the Boston Redsocks are the best. These were not left by the Allied armies, but were what were sold by our own Governments to them, and I was told by cousin who is a Captain in the British army that we do sell our cast off's to the poorer Countries. Makes me laugh poorer Countries and they have all the so called Oil that we want. So not just our allies but us as well.

you must recall that first we were allied with iran
then the shaw was deposed and we were allied with Iraq.
then iraq went all medevil and they were bad guys too.

to fight your enemies by proxy by supporting their enemy is all politics and stupidity.
