Bout had a heart attack today. Was quoted 9 bucks a lb PLS for switchgrass seed. At 6 lbs/acre doesn;t look like I'll be planting any this year

Ouch!!!
Now you know, the reason it's so high is because of the oil price?

It's kind of funny, all the WSG growers claim they had a poor seed crop this year because of all of the moisture and cooler temps. I checked a couple of stands of our WSG and have a good seed crop. I suppose in a 100 miles there could be that much variation in weather and seed production. But I also didn;t check any switchgrass. Just Big and Little blue and Indian

Turner seed in Breckenridge TX has blackwell for $7.00. They recommend 3 1/2 lb/ac. They also have Alamo but it is $20. They seem like good folks but all I have bought from them was Bermuda.

The recommended cultivar for this country is Cave in Rock.
