Anyone know the average Sulfur levels in Sweet Potatoes? I can't find it listed anywhere .

Be careful if feeding sweet potatoes
new a producer that fed some and lost 12 cows.

Yeah.... it grows a fungus that is toxic.
Luckily I can use it fast enough that it doesn't have time to grow and I use a mixer to make a TMR so they won't be able to pick out the taters to gorge on.

I am worried about the sulfer levels-- it would replace what I am useing now to pull down the sulfer levels.

I found Irish potatoes and their sulfer level is really low- so they are going to work great--- but latter in the year the processor will switch to sweet potatoes. I have to take both to get either and i have to decide soon.

I thought about buying a sweet potatoe at the store- and sending it off. But our local guy doesn't do sulfer and the lab he sends it to takes about two weeks.

Not to mention I'm poor(some say cheap :) )...... sulfer tests costs $75
and all I need is a ball park figure.

Thanks--- I did eventually find out alot of information on feeding them-
NC extension wrote a paper on it years ago.
