I sent that dangerous mare off to the horse sale. Sent her down with a friend who was hauling a few. Got a call from her telling me that she sold. Great. :)
Well got the paperwork from the sale yard, in it was a paper telling me that she was a no sale and we owed them money. :?
Now I am really suspious. She was listed at being 1200 pounds. No way. She might have been 900.
Called the yard and they told me since she was a no sale they offered her for $1.00 and someone took her for that. That was not listed on the paperwork.
Had asked the friend to bring her back if she didn't sell.

Thoughts on this issue please.

really beginning to stink on this auction yard.
I called again this morning and was told that the mare was put in with a bunch of other loose horses and sold that way. Didn't tell me that yesterday.
Friend called this morning too and was told that the mare was still there and they were going to be charging us $10.00 a day for upkeep.

Starting to sound alot like the sale barn is crooked.
Ain't going back there for anything again.

I would go down to the sale barn and look around. If your horse is still there probably should be getting the authorities involved. I guess I've always been present when my horses were sold at auction, that's always your best bet if possible.

Arrow the husband is going down there tomorrow. He is going to look around and if he see's the mare he plans to get some pictures showing that she is there.
Got the travel permit from the brand inspector. That is really suspious too. I was listed as "purchaser" but was scratched out and 2 other names were added. The date was also changed.

wow, it sure does sound like a sour yard to me.. we've had experiences with our calves at the auction weighing in at an average of 70lbs less than they did when we weighed our truck.. I'd definitely take a look, or maybe have someone else take a look with a camera

the transport papers are really screwy!

No sign of my horse down there. He did find a dead one with about 2 different sale tags on it's hind quarter. No he didn't take any pics of the dead one. Told him he should have.
