i seldom if ever watch a football game, maybe a few minutes in passing. today is the "super bowl", whatever super means. usually had family in proximity to watch. today neither children, nor grandchildren, nor great grandchildren available. hmm, probably check on what should/could be a couple of new calf arrivals. all good.

Well I burned dinner because my POS grill flared up, the game is sucking hind tit and this crap they call a halftime show is making my eyes and ears bleed. Think I should just go to bed.
We had smoked baby back ribs and they were awesome. I don't care who wins after Josh and the Bills lost the AFC championship. The halftime show did suck.

We did to, well ended up burn’t baby backs. Spent all day on the smoker and they were perfect but needed just a few degrees to temp up and my little smoker just wouldn’t do it in a timely fashion. Had the grill on low so not sure why the flare up but that has set the tone for the night. Lot of anticipation for what would be great only to see it all go up in 🔥.

I show up for the snacks. Cheese dip with sausage; i would eat it without chips but everyone would look at me funny.
I agree... no need for chips.

We had someone give us some home made Jalapeno jelly and we had some summer sausage... but no crackers. I'm not sure how we discovered that the jelly and the sausage were excellent together, but it is truly one of those great combinations that I doubt many people would ever try.

As for the entertainment... the way media sells Hollywood, books, and music as "news" is high order crap. But the public lets them get away with it. So halftime is, I think, as much about promoting the artist as entertaining the fans.

Cream cheese with the jalapeno jelly and sausage is good too.

I watched it. I was invited to the neighbours to watch. Didn’t know who was playing until I got there. Game wasn’t a thriller. Commercials weren’t great because we don’t get the good commercials up here. The food looked good but mostly didn’t fit my diet parameters so went untouched by me. But the company was good, and that made it worthwhile.

I went to collect my money and to eat a good meal. There was 2 TV rooms. One up stairs and one in the basement. I stayed in the up stairs room. The home owner gave me the remote. I hit mute during the half time show. 15-20 people talking there was enough noise. The prime rib was good but the pot luck portion was a bit lacking this year. The game sucked. The guy who had bought KC was sitting close to me. At first he moaned a bit but after a while he just gave up. He left at half time to check cows and missed the third quarter. There was half a dozen guys who did the same thing. It is calving season here. I got $522.50 for buying the Bills back before the season started.

The half time rapper was great! Well not his actions, but the song itself. I read the words. He was making fun of the pedophiles in Hollywood and even called out Drake for molesting children...... on live TV!
